What We Do For You
A fire in your home can be a heart-breaking and devastating experience, filled with great inconvenience. We at Virginia Insurance Adjusters will assist in every way possible to ease your distress and help you return to your life with as little inconvenience as possible. The following is a brief desciption of what we do for you and what we will do to assist in the prompt and efficient settlement of your insurance claim.
BUILDING REPAIR ESTIMATE
Our representative will visit your home as soon as possible after, to estimate the damages and recommend a course of repair. We will evaluate only the damages to the structure of your home and will prepare a detailed, written estimate (scope) of damages to your property.
CONTENTS ESTIMATE
Anything not physically attached to your house is considered personal property (content) under the terms of your insurance policy. A representative of Virginia Insurance Adjusters will meet with you to review your damaged property and a computerized inventory list with prices will be included in your claim to your insurance company.
PERSONAL PROPERTY CLEANING, MOVING AND STORAGE
A portion of the personal property items in your home may only need to be cleaned or repaired rather than replaced. During the initial stages of the claims process, a representative from a cleaning company specializing in fire damage will be on site to advise you which items can be cleaned and saved and which cannot.
Of particular concern are electronic items, furniture requiring refinishing or special treatment, antiques, jewelry etc. The cleaning specialist will take care of packaging and removing any salvageable items and return them to your home after the repairs are complete. The cleaning specialist will prepare an inventory listing all items picked up and will review this inventory with you as well as the conditions of the items as they are returned.
RELOCATION
You will need to have a place to live while repairs are being made to your home. We will recommend a relocation expert who is experienced in securing temporary housing and rental furniture that is as similar to your home as possible.
NEGOTIATING AND SETTLING YOUR CLAIM
Once we have gathered all of the pertinent information, our staff of experts will diligently review your insurance policy, prepare your claim, present it to your insurance company and negotiate the best possible settlement. Typically Virginia Insurance Adjusters and your insurance company make several offers and counter offers before a final number is reached. The final settlement will be one that relects the maximum benefits afforded by your policy.
